Chapter 3
Joyce returned home and went straight to the bedroom to pack her things. It was at this moment that she realized her wardrobe was almost empty, except for a few items given to her by the Norton
family when she got married. Surprisingly, her husband Zander had never bought her any clothes during these three years.
After organizing her luggage, Joyce rummaged through her belongings and found all the gifts she had given to Zander over the years, intending to sell them. All these years, the gifts she had carefully chosen for him had never been looked at by him, and they were discarded in a corner,
covered in dust.
Just as she turned to enter the house, she heard the sound of a car horn. She turned around and saw
a luxurious car parked in front of her, with the door open and a woman wearing a violet gown Stepping out. It was her aunt Shayla Norton.
Shayla glanced at the junk truck not far away, a cold smile curling at the corner of her mouth, and then she sized up Joyce again.
“He really came from a remote and impoverished place, even this little trinket had to be sold for
money,”
Joyce ignored her and decided to go back to her room.
The mockery on Shayla’s face instantly disappeared, and she hurriedly stepped forward and
grabbed Joyce forcefully.
“Joyce!”
Ever since Joyce arrived at the Norton family, she has always been deferential to them, which is the
first time she has dared to adopt such a posture towards them.
At this moment, her appearance made Shayla furious.
“Are you deaf? I was talking to you. Didn’t you hear me?”
Joyce shrugged her off, a hint of impatience in her eyes.
Shayla always disliked her, believing that she married into the Norton family for money.
For three years of their marriage, Shayla had been causing trouble for her. If it wasn’t breaking the
vase she bought, it was spilling juice in the room she had just cleaned up.
Now she was about to be free, and she didn’t want to waste her patience in obeying others.
Shayla was about to get angry, but suddenly remembered something and looked at her mockingly.
A poor wretch like you should also sell scrap. You probably don’t know yet, but Zander’s sweetheart has returned, and you shameless impostor will finally be kicked out of the Norton
1/3
family.”
Just as the words were spoken, a woman wearing a light blue dress gracefully stepped down from
the car.
This was the first meeting between Joyce and Elianna.
Her eyes were bright like stars, her long hair cascaded down her shoulders, her skin was fair, and the simple style of her dress accentuated her purity. She didn’t have expensive jewelry, yet she still
exuded a unique charm.
No wonder Zander was held dear.
Elianna gently took Shayla’s hand and said softly, “Shayla, don’t speak to Ms. Irwin like that, she
was Zander’s wife.”
you,
“What? Elianna, I have told you so many times before, Zander has always had deep feelings for
he has always kept you in his heart since the past, not to mention that he always makes time to see you and gives you so many big and small gifts. Don’t you understand his feelings for you?”
Shayla bossily said to Joyce, “Why are you still standing here? Hurry up and move Elianna’s things
inside. Zander said that Elianna will be living with him from now on.”
Joyce glanced briefly and then went straight back into the house.
Shayla was furious and glared at her fiercely from behind.
Finally, the butler came to move Elianna’s things into the house, just as Shayla was about to continue looking for her. Zander hurriedly walked into the living room.
He looked at Elianna, who was sitting quietly in the living room, and sighed slowly. Then he shifted his gaze to Joyce on the other side and said, “Elianna’s house hasn’t been lived in for a long time and needs to be cleaned and repaired. Until then, she will stay here temporarily.”
Joyce remained silent.
The atmosphere fell into silence, Elianna stood up hesitantly, with a hint of timidity on her face
“Zander, I think I should find another place to stay. After all, this is still your and Ms. Irwin’s home, and it seems like Ms. Irwin is not very happy…”
Without thinking, Zander reached out and held her back. “It’s okay, you can stay. She won’t get angry over these trivial matters.”
Joyce had a faint smile on her lips.
Yes, I wouldn’t mind, Elianna. You can relax and stay here.”
Anyway, Mrs. Norton’s position was bound to end up in Elianna’s hands sooner or later.
