Chapter 5
h!”
In an instant, Joyce was hit by a sushi plate, her clothes were covered in sauce, and several red and swollen spots appeared on her arm. The pain was so intense that she could hardly speak.
“Joyce!”
Zander quickly released Elianna, his eyes showing signs of anxiety. He asked, “Did you get hurt? Shall I take you to the hospital?”
Joyce was allergic to seafood and had a large rash on her arm.
She looked up at him, pain spreading throughout her body, but despite her best efforts, she
couldn’t utter a single word.
“Oh my, Elianna, how did you get hurt so badly!”
Zander’s attention instantly shifted to Elianna, and he hurriedly ran up to her. He saw a few drops of sauce lightly dotted on her pure white arms, which looked truly “shocking“.
Elianna’s eyes welled up with tears as she shook her head gently.
“I’m fine, Ms. Irwin looks worse, you better take care of her first.”
“How could it not be important? You’ve been spoiled since childhood, crying for a long time over even the slightest injury. Brother, why are you still being foolish? Hurry up and take Elianna to the hospital!”
Shayla was extremely anxious and shouted at the troublemakers, “What’s wrong with you people? You’ve hurt Elianna, my brother won’t spare you!”
At this moment, Elianna couldn’t bear the pain anymore and started to sob softly, but she still said, “It’s really okay, Zander, you should take Ms. Irwin to the hospital quickly, she is in a worse
condition.”
Seeing the pitiful look, he couldn’t care about anything else. He quickly picked up Elianna and walked out. When he reached the door, he suddenly paused and guiltily glanced at Joyce.
“Elianna was spoiled since childhood and was particularly afraid of pain. The hospital is very close by, so you figure out a way to go there yourself.”
Their figures disappeared in the distance, and Joyce withdrew her gaze, gasping in pain.
Seeing her injured and enduring it alone, the waiter quickly approached her, apologizing while bandaging her wound.
After applying the medicine, the pain gradually eased a little, at least I could make some sound.

She temporarily changed into a different set of clothes, and then she stumbled out of the door and
hailed a taxi to rush to the hospital.
The doctor cleaned her wound with a cotton ball and advised her to remember to apply ointment every day in order to avoid scarring.
Joyce was in so much pain that she dared not open her eyes. Just then, two intern nurses happened to pass by.
“Mr. Norton really went all out for Elianna. Just for a few drops of sauce, he directly closed off the entire floor and had all the experts come for a consultation.”
“I have to say, those minor injuries would have healed in no time. If I had such a considerate husband by my side, I would wake up laughing even in my dreams.”
“Haha, how is it possible? Where can you find such a husband!”
***
Where can you find such a husband?
Joyce smiled bitterly.
Leaving behind his seriously injured wife, he was indeed as difficult to find as someone searching
for a lantern in the dark.
After all the wounds were treated, she expressed her gratitude to the doctor and then left the clinic.
Just as I walked out of the hospital, my phone screen instantly lit up, and a new message appeared before my eyes.
She lowered her head to check and found out that it was an admission notice from the overseas
university she had applied to, informing her that she needed to submit a piece of work upon
enrollment.
Three years later, Joyce finally picked up the pen again.
After buying paper and pens, Joyce went straight to Leiden Lake.
The beautiful scenery of Leiden Lake was enchanting, with its tranquil surface resembling a
sparkling pearl, nestled in the embrace of rolling mountains. The lake was as calm as a flawless
jade, reflecting the surrounding peaks, creating a naturally exquisite masterpiece that made people
intoxicated and reluctant to leave.
She let out a sigh of relief, and all the frustration in her heart disappeared, leaving only a sense of freedom and joy.
er mind was filled with thoughts, and her pen touched the paper, a beautifully worded essay quietly emerged on the paper.

Two days passed, and she immersed herself in her creation and couldn’t extricate herself.
When Joyce decided to return to school to submit her work, she unlocked her phone.
Just as the screen lit up, a series of missed calls and text messages flooded in like a tidal wave,
almost filling up the entire interface. And all of these messages were sent by the same person –
Zander.
This was unprecedented in the past.
In the past, she always initiated contact with Zander, while he never reached out to her, even ignoring her missed calls.
Just as she was lost in thought, Shayla’s phone suddenly rang. She hurriedly pressed the answer
button, and Shayla’s sharp voice immediately came through her ear.
“Joyce, where on earth have you been all this time? Do you know that Zander has been going crazy trying to find you! Stop trying to get his attention by disappearing, give up on that idea. The only
Mrs. Norton is Elianna!”
After saying that, Shayla promptly hung up the phone.
Only Joyce slightly furrowed her brow.
She suspected that she had hallucinated.
Did Zander actually look for her everywhere? What was he looking for?
She had intended to confirm the truth with Shayla, but upon seeing the 99 missed calls notification
on her phone, she had no choice but to believe that Zander was indeed desperately looking for her. –
