Chapter 5
Eddie knew that I had been living here for six years.
Knowing that my father had gone bankrupt and passed away, I found myself in Sea City without any
relatives and nowhere to go.
But I disappeared.
“Go and search! Everyone went to search.”
“In such a small place, where else could Kylie go?”
“Bring her back!” Eddie thought I was upset and hiding because of what happened that day.
However, the nanny’s face showed a difficult expression upon hearing these words.
“Sir, we searched everywhere.”
“There is indeed no trace of Kylie around here, it’s as if Kylie…vanished into thin air.”
Eddie couldn’t sit still anymore. He didn’t even have breakfast and ran out like crazy.
Arabella tried to stop him when she saw him.
“Eddie, didn’t you say you were going to accompany me to the hospital later? Where are you going?”
Eddie’s voice came coldly.
“Have the driver accompany you later.”
Arabella’s smile on her face completely froze, and she stomped her foot in anger.
She tried to seduce Eddie for three days but failed. “It seems that Eddie is captivated by that damn
girl.”
“If it were before, there would be no need to wait so many days. Eddie would have long fallen at the
feet of my pomegranate skirt.”
After Eddie rushed out, he quickly contacted the property management to request access to all the
surveillance cameras in the villa and the community.
The result, however, was told to him, “Mr. Lucero, the heavy rain three days ago was too much, and
the surveillance cameras were also broken.”
Eddie’s face turned paler bit by bit. He, who was always calm and composed, had never experienced such panic before.
He trembled as he took out his phone and dialed my number, repeatedly making the call.

But it only showed the shutdown prompt.
Kylie, answer the phone, Kylie! Where are you?”

My phone got soaked in the heavy rain that day. I tried several times, but it wouldn’t turn on.
After being discharged, Jaden took me to a mobile phone store and bought a new one.
He also helped me get a new SIM card.
“Kylie, are you ready for our new life in Cloud City? We will be going back there from now on.”
Jaden lightly chuckled as he held my hand.
I nodded. “I’m ready, Jaden. I am willing to marry you.”
Jaden was my blind date from many years ago. Meadow was determined to be associated with the
Jenkins family. Back then, when my dad was still alive, I was still in college.
She arranged a blind date and wanted me to marry Jaden.
At that time, I was wholeheartedly infatuated with Eddie.
I treated Jaden as just a regular friend.
Unexpectedly, the encounter at the coffee shop at that time made Jaden fall in love with me.
He would call Meadow now and then to ask, “Have I gotten married recently? Do you still want to marry me?”
This persevering spirit, I regarded as a life–saving straw.
Originally, it was thought to be just a springboard to escape Eddie and Sea City.
But during the days I was hospitalized, Jaden stayed by my side, sleepless day and night.
He took care of me attentively. He said the blind date we had back then was too hasty, so he took the
opportunity while buying food to go and buy an engagement ring.
He knelt and asked me if I was willing to marry him.
He even said he wanted to give me the sense of ceremony that other girls have.
Looking into Jaden’s sincere eyes.
Isuddenly felt that marrying him would be nice too.
I followed Jaden back to Cloud City, and Meadow was extremely excited when she saw me.

“Kylie, it’s been six years since we last met, I didn’t expect you to look so beautiful now.”
If my parents knew that I have found an unmarried fiancé who is both handsome and wealthy, they would probably be overjoyed!”
I just chuckled.
While Meadow wasn’t paying attention, I quietly asked Jaden.
“Did Meadow receive a dowry of one million?”
Jaden nodded and then shook his head. Seeing my surprised gaze, Jaden smiled and raised his hand.
“Five million.”
was so surprised that I couldn’t speak, and I was about to frown.
Jaden smiled and used his fingers to help me smooth out my frown, “Don’t furrow your brow, Kylie gets angry easily and ages quickly.”
I was so angry, “Jaden, are you stupid? You gave her five million?”
Jaden’s smile grew even wider on his face. He looked at me earnestly and said, “It wasn’t Meadow
who wanted it, Kylie, it was me who gave it.”
“A five million dowry, being able to marry you, I felt like I hit the jackpot.‘
Looking at the bright and sunny young man in front of me.
A strange feeling suddenly swept over me in the depths of my heart.
The feeling of being cherished and valued.
It made my heart soft.
