Chapter 6
Jaden took me to pick out my favorite wedding dress and introduced me to his parents.
Mr. Jenkins and Mrs. Jenkins were both kind and amiable, they were the type of elders who were
very reasonable.
When I first found out that Jaden was determined to marry no one but me, they didn’t oppose it,
they just did their best to support us.
Now that they have learned that we are getting married, they have taken care of everything.
Even though they said they lacked money, I still gave it to them.
During these days back in Cloud City, I would occasionally think of Eddie.
But what I can’t forget the most is his gloomy and hateful gaze.
The tenderness he had when looking at Arabella. Perhaps, they have already successfully married
now.
Perhaps, they had already moved to another marital villa to live.
But no matter what, it has nothing to do with me anymore.
But I never expected that, half a month later, at the corner of Cloud City’s street, I encountered
Eddie again.
I sat in a street café, waiting for Jaden to finish his work and take me ice skating.
Eddie suddenly tapped on the glass and called my name.
Turned my head and looked back.
Just in time, his blood–red eyes met mine.
Eddie rushed in without hesitation, looking exhausted, and tightly grabbed my arm.
“Kylie! I looked for you for a long time.”
“How did you come to Cloud City?”
“Why didn’t you tell me? Are you still mad at me?”
I stared at Eddie blankly, not understanding why he was so excited.
“I was not angry.”
He, however, teared up and hugged me.
“It’s impossible. How could one suddenly leave the city they have been living in for six years

without being angry?”
What happened that day… I was wrong to blame you.”
After I realized that you were missing, I reviewed the surveillance footage and saw that on that day
in the kitchen, Arabella deliberately scratched her arm. You didn’t harm her, nor did you do
anything wrong.
Eddie was filled with heartache and guilt.
“Kylie, that day I made a mistake and even got angry at you…‘
I lightly laughed and pushed away his hand, avoiding any further contact with him.
“Eddie, you were overthinking.”
“I wasn’t angry, I just happened to run into my fiancé that day and we came to Cloud City together.”
Eddie’s face looked extremely ugly.
He stared at me in disbelief, “Uncle? Kylie, do you have a heart at all?”
“You knew… You knew how much I cared about you, and yet you still killed me emotionally, didn’t
you?”
After getting drunk that night, everything that should or shouldn’t have happened between us had already happened, and you even called me uncle?
I just felt that he was somewhat inexplicable. What does he care about me?
Was it because he didn’t want to have any relationship with me that he avoided me like the plague
for three months?
Was he about to marry Arabella soon and felt that I was getting in his way, so he wanted me to
leave?
I left as I wished.
How did he suddenly become affectionate?
He came over and started saying this bunch of nonsense. I pushed him away, “Eddie, you are about to get married, it’s better not to mess around with other women.”
Eddie’s face suddenly changed.
He stared at me blankly and said, “Marriage? Who told you that I was getting married?”
Just behind him, Arabella came running in high heels.
I pointed and said, “Arabella, ah.” “That day at the bar, I heard everything you said to them.”

“You said I was a child who had nothing to do with you, Ms. Hodge is your beloved.”
And Ms. Hodge also gave me an invitation card, saying that you two are getting married next
month.”
Eddie’s expression froze in an instant.
He turned around with a gloomy expression on his face.
Arabella was taken aback by his expression. “Eddie, what happened to you?”
In Eddie’s eyes, all the warmth and tenderness of the past had completely disappeared, leaving only
coldness.
“What invitation?”
“Arabella, when were we getting married?”
