Chapter 7
Arabella’s face turned pale, and her eyes avoided contact.
“Wasn’t that invitation the sample you asked me to make back then?”
“You said that if it was appropriate, you would make it according to the style of that invitation…”
Arabella had not finished speaking.
Eddie’s gaze fell darkly upon her ring finger on her right hand.
It was a shiny ring.
Eddie’s face changed.
“Where did you get it from?”
He roughly snatched the ring away, and Arabella exclaimed, “Ouch, Eddie, be more careful!”
Eddie looked at the ring as if it were a precious treasure, and his eyes turned red.
He slowly turned around and looked at me, hesitating to speak. “Kylie, this ring was originally
intended to be my engagement ring for you.”
“And that invitation… it was all a misunderstanding!”
“I had no intention of marrying Arabella, I have always been struggling with how to express these words to you…”
I was stunned.
I never expected things to turn out this way. That ring looked very familiar to me.
It was because when I first met Arabella, she smiled brightly and proudly showed off the ring to me,
“This is the engagement ring Eddie gave me, isn’t it beautiful?”
“Some people are ultimately substitutes, even if several more six years pass, they won’t be able to
receive this ring.‘
But I never thought about it.
Months later today, Eddie surprisingly said that the ring was meant to be given to me.

How absurd, how ridiculous.
Now Eddie was kneeling on one knee, holding the ring, and proposing to me.
I burst into laughter.

“Eddie, stop joking around.”
was almost getting married,”
I pointed behind me towards Jaden, who was walking towards me. “This is my fiancé,” I said.
Eddie’s face lost its last trace of color.
He stood up blankly.
“How could you suddenly have a fiancé?”
“Kylie, you were not…”
The words “Do you like me?” were swallowed back by him.
But I already knew what he wanted to say. I just lightly smiled and held onto Jaden’s arm.
“When people are lonely and isolated, they tend to make mistakes.”
Sometimes, some good feelings may be mistaken for liking, mistaken for love.
“But when true love appeared, I realized that no one could replace that feeling.”
I took out an invitation card.
Just like Arabella handed it to me back then, I handed her the message saying, “Jaden and I are
getting married in a few days, and we welcome you to attend the wedding.”
“Also, I wish Eddie and Ms. Hodge a happy marriage and a hundred years of harmony.”
After saying that, I got into the car with Jaden.
The car drove away.
Eddie stood still like a sculpture, staring at me.
“Kylie, why did you just call that person uncle? He looks quite young.”
I smiled.
“It was him who took care of me for six years in Sea City.”
Jaden suddenly realized.

“It was him after all. You should have told me earlier. He is also considered an elder, so I should go and thank him for taking such good care of my fiancée.”
Ishook my head, “There’s no need.” “Jaden, I feel it’s necessary to be honest with you.”
“Before I accepted your proposal, I had a secret crush on Eddie.”

“We once had a relationship after getting drunk, and I also confessed my feelings to him.”
“But he didn’t like me, the Ms. Hodge next to him just now was his beloved many years ago.”
“Just after I gave up on him, he came to me instead and said he also liked me.”
“Jaden, but did you know?”
“I now realize that I truly fell in love with you.”
Jaden smiled and patted my head.
“Fool, it doesn’t matter if you don’t tell me these.”
“Even if you didn’t say it, I still knew.”
