Chapter 18
“Get out! You’re not welcome here? Janice screamed at Talia, her voice seething with rage.
Talia didn’t flinch. “You invited me,” she shot back, her tone as cold as ice.
Janice was left speechless, her mouth hanging open in disbelief.
Pandora had just about calmed herself down, but Talia’s response was like pouring gasoline on th
on the fire.
Today was Sirena’s birthday, and if she didn’t get to see Talia, Pandora knew she’d bear an earful from her again
With a deep, frustrated sigh. Pandora turned to Edric. “Edric, come here and handle your wife!”
Edric, who had been lounging on the sofa with that indifferent look on his face, finally pushed himself up,
He glanced at his watch and said, his voice sharp and cold, “Grandmother’s almost here. Stop making a scene”
Both Pandora and Janice instantly shut up, immediately silenced by his words.
Edric stood tall, walking toward Talia. His figure towered over her, and his voice dropped low with warning. “Don’t forget what I told you”
Talia barely spared him a glance before turning toward the dining room. For Sirena’s sake, she decided to let this family drama slide–just for now.
Edric was stunned that she’d dared to roll her eyes at him. His handsome brows furrowed, and a coldness surrounded him
“Mom, look at this! I can’t let her get away with this Janice grabbed Pandora’s arm, her voice low and seething with frustration.
“Don’t worry” Pandora said, a wicked gleam flashing in her eyes as she turned to the servant. “I’ll make sure she doesn’t get off easy. Bring the drug for Talia”
“Yes, ma’am.” The servant quickly disappeared, only to return moments later with a small white coffee cup and placed it in front of Talia
Without even needing to open the lid. Talia knew exactly what was inside,
In her past life, Edric had never touched her, but Pandora had always believed it was Talia’s fault they couldn’t have kids. So, she’d forced her to take all kinds of disgusting, weird drugs
To get Pandora’s approval. Talia had swallowed every vile concoction she could come up with. And it wrecked her health, leaving her physically
broken.
Pandora, always high–and–mighty spoke like she was doing Talia some big favor. “You haven’t shown me any respect, but I’m still gonna keep it classy.
“You’ve been here for a year and still no heir. So I personally requested this fertility medicine from a top doctor. Go ahead, take it
She waved at the servant, who opened the cup.
Edric, sining next to Talis, glanced at the contents and his face darkened. His brows furrowed when he saw what was inside: a pig’s eyeball, still bloody and freshly removed.
“This is top–notch stuff?” Pandora smiled smugly. “I had to go through a lot to get it. Anyone who eats this will have a big–eyed, chubby baby!”
The truth? The recipe was supposed to involve cooking the pig’s eye and adding it to a dish.
But Pandora had lied to Sirena about it, just to hide her real intent. What she really wanted was to disgust Talia and make her suffer.
If she ate this filthy thing and fell ill–or worse, died from it–Edric would be free to marry her close friend’s daughter, Nina.
“Yes, it’s really good for your health!” Janice eagerly added, though she immediately turned away and pretended to gag
“Alright, Talia, I was too harsh carlier. Just eat it, please,” Pandora said with a falsely sweet smile.
Talia didn’t respond. Calmly, she picked up her fork and slowly grabbed the pig’s eye.
Sering her obediently following their orders, Janice and Pandora exchanged glances, their faces lighting up with smug satisfaction. They thought that as long as they threatened her with the idea of having children. Talia would always fall in line.
Their smug, mocking glares were all directed at Talia.
In the next moment, Talia flicked her fingers, tossing the pig’s eyeball straight into Edric’s bowl
