Chapter 29
“No exaggeration at all,” Alina insisted. Tonight, you’ll see just how much the jewelry world loves your
“I already know how much you love me,” Talia teased, lightly laughing as she playfully grabbed Alina’s hand. Her eyes casually shifted to where Edric was helping Nina take a seat.
“They’re still here! Alina raised her voice deliberately, feigning irritation. “Nina really has some nerve, doesn’t she?”
The people nearby overheard, and many exchanged disapproving glances, casting scornful looks at Nina.
Nina’s fists clenched tightly, her face alternating between pale and flushed with anger. But she held herself back from exploding, and all she could do was glare at Talia with pure venom
The host stepped onto the stage, announcing the first item up for auction. It was a collection of works by new designers this year, with each piece going for hundreds of thousands of dollars.
“Next, we begin the auction of the masterworks” the host called.
The moment be finished, Janice couldn’t resist making a loud, mocking comment “Of course, the work from the backdoor never makes it to the stage. They’re too scared to even auction it off!!
Talis frowned slightly, but before she could respond, Alina grabbed her hand
“You’re not one of the new designers.” Alana whispered. “You’re a masterwork. And you’ll find out soon enough” She gave a mysterious wink and left it at that.
As the auction continued, each subsequent item was more impressive than the last, and the number of bidders grew. The prices kept rising People soon noticed a pattern the later in the auction, the more valuable the pieces.
“Now, let’s announce the final piece of tonight’s auction!”
Several staff members brought a large display case onto the stage, and the screens on either side of the room zoomed in on the hummingbird inside, showing it in stunning high definition.
This was the kind of treatment no other piece had received, and Janice immediately voiced her disapproval. “I can’t believe the last item is something so ordinary. What a letdown”
The other guests also wore disappointed expressions.
“Ordinary?” Before Talia could respond, Alina had already stepped up onto the stage and grabbed the microphone. “Zoom in a hundred times!
The staff quickly complied, and as the camera zoomed in the hummingbird’s wings grew larger, revealing every delicate feather. The craftsmanship was so fine that it looked identical to a real bird.
“It’s so lifelike!”
“I’ve never seen such exquisite detail before!”
Alina smiled, her voice full of pride. “This is just the beginning. The best part is still to come!”
As she spoke, Alina opened a side of the display case, and a breeze swept through. To everyone’s shock, the hummingbird’s wings fluttered in response to the wind.
sped in awe. “My god! The hummingbird’s alive”
Some of the jewelry collectors gasped in awe.
“Oh my god! I’ve been collecting jewelry for half my life, and I’ve never seen anything so full of life! It’s like it has a soul?”
Nearby, famous designers couldn’t stop praising the piece. “The micro–sculpting and three–dimensional setting techniques are so advanced that the jewelry almost has joints and veins! I’ll never reach this level in my lifetime!”
“I can’t believe that after all these years, I’m still seeing something this groundbreaking!”
The compliments echoed around the room, growing louder and louder. Nina’s face turned darker with each passing second
“Let me proudly introduce my best friend Talia’s masterpiece, The Hatchling” Alina announced, handing the microphone back to the host.
“Now, let the bidding begin. The starting price is”.
“Wait” A sharp voice cut through the air, instantly shattering the atmosphere.

Everyone turned toward the source of the interruption. Nina had stood up her face flushed with indignation as she shouted, “Everyone, I can’t sit back and let this go! A plagiarized piece of art is being auctioned off at Purar’s grand showcase!”
