Chapter 335
In the real world, the Drayton family, along with Stellan, were rushing towards the mountain top.
Meanwhile, in Elysia’s world, everything was eerily still.
She was dead… and yet, she wasn’t.
The robot with glowing blue eyes stood silently on the rooftop, watching Elysia’s lifeless body sprawled in the blood–soaked pool below, after having pushed her there.
At this moment, the only movement in her world came from the blood still pouring from Elysia’s body, slowly creeping towards Stellan’s feet.
And there he stood, motionless, paying no attention to the blood staining his clothes.
“Why is he crying?”
The robotic replica, still caught in the accident of its transmission, had been stripped of all emotion. Even the act of pushing the real Elysia had been carried out without hesitation.
It was simply a command from its memory–no, from ‘me.’
This was the first time since her creation–less than a day ago–that Elysia experienced such a complex emotion.
And the first thing she felt was an overwhelming discomfort.
It was a pain more intense than having her body torn into three parts, coexisting with two parasitic entities.
Yet she had only followed the orders stored in her memory… so why would she regret it?
Elysia thought, ‘Wait, regret…
The moment the word crossed her mind, Elysia hesitated. It was as though an increasing number of emotional words were flooding into her brain.
Elysia felt tired, dragging her mechanical body off the towering platform.
What she didn’t know was that with the calm of the two parasitic entities inside her, her data had stabilized like never before.
And with that, emotions once confined to ‘humans‘ began to surge uncontrollably.
But by then, it was too late. She had already completed her task, her emotionless execution of the mission etched in her memory.
Back in reality, Stellan’s vantage point gave him an unobstructed view of Cloud Church, including the high platform in front of the Church, teeming with people.
They formed a circle, barely enough to see Valeria in the center, and–was she digging into a coffin? Could she have put Elysia inside?
“How dare she.”
Stellan was about to explode with rage, but the cable in the air moved so slowly.
His anger was useless for now; unless he snapped and threw himself at the cable car’s glass door, there was nothing to be done.
But just the thought of reclaiming Elysia’s body, of bringing her back to his side, made Stellan feel a rush of excitement.
‘Finally! I’m here! Elysia, where are you? I’ve come to take you home.”
Fenwick was desperately scanning the crowd, grabbing at any long–haired person, convinced it was Elysia. Only after being intimidated by a series of long–haired male cult members did he stop, slinking through the crowd.
But thanks to his ruckus, Torin and Caellan managed to slip through and follow him.
“What the hell? You three can’t just cut in line like this. No honor, no respect!”
The group’s sudden “smuggling” caused a stir, and the three men were practically mobbed as they fought their way through the crowd.
