After that day, Ryan continued tirelessly shuttling between the company and the hospital.
They just didn’t give me a single glance.
He took out the pancake from the side of his clothes.
“Bella, eat breakfast.”
The jam from the pancake stained his collar, making him feel uncomfortable all over, but he still pretended to be nonchalant.
“Don’t be hard on yourself, just wipe it off.”
was speaking and I didn’t mean to find tissues for him.
He lowered his head and cast down his silent eyes.
“I wasn’t dirty, Bella. I had taken a shower and sprayed perfume before I saw you.”
“You liked that baozi shop which was too far from the hospital. It was windy in the morning, and I had no choice but to tuck it in my clothes. Feel it, it’s still warm.”
I interrupted him, “Ryan, throw it away.”
“I no longer loved eating pancake.”
Ryan’s face turned pale, and he fled as if escaping.
Scenes like this were happening almost every day.
Finally, one day, I received a message from Ryan.
“Bella, I agreed to get divorced.”
On the morning when Ryan and I went to collect the divorce certificate, I went to the court.
In the courtroom, Lilly trembled, her cheeks covered with tears, her eyes filled with panic.
“Bella, I was wrong. I shouldn’t have known that Ryan had a family and still tried to interfere. Please forgive me.”
She clenched her fists, fell to her knees, and her whole body collapsed on the ground. Her almond–shaped eyes were filled with mist, and a hint of blood appeared at the corners of her eyes.
‘Sorry, let’s make peace. I’ll give you whatever you want.”
Would it be good if I served you like a cow and a horse? It’s all my fault, I hit myself.”
The sound of slaps resounded one after another on the field, as she kept slapping herself until her
face was covered in blood and still didn’t stop.
The lawyer whispered a few words in my ear..
Lilly’s final outcome was most likely being expelled from school and sentenced to two and a half. years of imprisonment.
Ryan’s lawyer at the time vigorously defended her, turning her subjective motive into
unintentional. However, it is unknown what happened in between, and her defense lawyer suddenly left overnight.
Lilly still had two younger brothers at home, and when her family heard the news, they immediately threatened to sever their kinship with her.
“Bella, please, I couldn’t go in, once I went in, my life would be ruined forever!”
If someone hadn’t stopped her, she would probably have rushed towards me.
Lilly’s voice trembled as she knelt on the ground, looking up at me.
At that moment, as our eyes met, I tugged at the hem of my clothes, stood still, and spoke in a low voice, making sure everyone in the room could hear, “Lilly, tit for tat, that’s the only way to event things out.”
On the day I woke up, I had already sent Lilly’s resume to my friend and informed all major
companies not to hire her.
What I wanted was never the brief days of her false repentance in prison.
I had to hold her accountable for her actions for the rest of her life.
It has been raining continuously recently, but today is a long–awaited sunny day.
Ryan stood at the entrance of the courtroom, not knowing how long he had been listening or if he had heard clearly.
He didn’t come to his senses until I walked up to him.
“Did you bring all the documents?”
“Um.”
The road from the courthouse to home was the same.
Seven years ago, we went to get the evidence. Seven years later, we went to get the evidence on the Same road as well.
“I have converted all the company shares into cash and transferred them to your card. I had the Secretary organize it earlier, please take a look and see if you have received it. In the future, I will send you the company’s profits on a monthly basis. If you need any assistance, I also hope you can
give me an opportunity to help you.

L.. I wouldn’t disturb your and Jane’s normal life, I only saw her twice a week, secretly.”

As usual, he dropped me off at the bottom of my house.
But this time he didn’t follow me upstairs.
His hand reached forward twice, his fingertips brushing against my arm, but he could only clench his fist tightly, causing the veins on the back of his hand to bulge.
He absentmindedly caressed the necklace hanging around his neck, which held my ring.
Ryan looked at me, his voice was soft, “I left.”
I didn’t turn back.
