Chapter 3
Hollowed the gaze of the crowd and looked outside, only to see a delicate girl in a white dress standing at the door.
It seemed to be raining outside, and her white dress was slightly wet, revealing what was
underneath.
Seeing this, Cameron’s face turned ugly.
I immediately stood up and walked towards Ryleigh.
The ring box in his hand was casually thrown aside by him, rolling under the sofa.
“How did you get so wet? Hurry up and change into clean clothes, don’t catch a cold. There are my shirts in the wardrobe, you can wear one first.”
At this moment, Cameron’s friends started to cheer and tease the two people who were in an intimate pose.
“Ryleigh was late, so she had to punish herself with three cups!”
No one expected that his official girlfriend was still standing here.
A blush appeared on Ryleigh’s face, and she looked at Cameron with a pleading expression.
At that moment, Cameron suddenly fixed his gaze on me.
“Tess, you drank for Ryleigh.”
He curled his lips into a cold smile and pushed the full glass of wine in front of me.
“Didn’t you want the emerald ring back? After drinking these three glasses of wine, I will give it back to you. Otherwise, I will flush it down the toilet.”
I clenched my fists tightly and looked at the man in front of me with disappointment in my eyes.
Forget it.
After exchanging the rings, we should never meet again.
Finally, under the gaze of a group of people, I drank all three glasses of wine.
As the alcohol kicked in, my face turned red and I awkwardly slumped over the table, enduring the agonizing turmoil in my stomach.
Kneeling on both knees, I picked up the ring box that had rolled under the sofa.
The surroundings suddenly became quiet.
When I got up, I looked at Cameron’s complicated eyes and didn’t say anything.
Tleft his house stumbling and bumping into things.
And Cameron, unsurprisingly, did not catch up.
The rain outside gradually lessened, and I walked on the road in a daze..
Maybe it was the alcohol getting to me, but I found myself reminiscing about the past.
At that time, I gave the jade ring to Cameron, eagerly waiting for him to propose to me.
But I waited for one year after another, a total of seven years.
He didn’t wait for his proposal.
In these seven years, I devoted everything of myself to him, but what I got in return was his
ncreasingly indifferent attitude.
It seems now that he didn’t want to marry me, he was just waiting for Ryleigh.
When I got back home, as expected, I had a fever.
I lay in bed all night in a daze.
The next day, my body had just recovered a bit when I received a call from Cameron.
“Tess, what do you mean exactly? I already said I won’t marry you, so why did you still buy a wedding dress?”
“You even sent the wedding dress to me. Did you think that just because you bought a wedding dress, I would marry you? You’re really delusional. Come and take it away quickly.”
Cameron’s words were filled with disgust as he hung up the phone without waiting for my
response.
Faintly audible was Ryleigh’s gentle reassurance on the other end of the phone.
I touched my forehead with a headache, opened my phone and checked it. Sure enough, I had entered the wrong address.
I struggled to get out of bed and took a taxi to Cameron’s house to pick up the wedding dress.
When he saw me coming, Cameron’s expression froze for a moment.
“Why is your face so pale?”
He wanted to say something, but he was interrupted by Ryleigh on the side.
“Tess, was it you who ordered this wedding dress? Why did you have it sent here? Are you really getting married?”
Her voice trembled a little, and her watery eyes, just looking at them, evoked a sense of pity.
How is it possible? We wouldn’t get married.”
Cameron eagerly denied the matter, looking at me with an unfriendly gaze.
“Did you intentionally send the wedding dress here? Let me tell you for the last time, don’t think you can force me to marry you using such means. It’s truly disgusting.”
