Chapter 2
After getting engaged.
We had planned to watch a movie one day, but as soon as we met, he was called away by a phone
call.
By then, it had become the norm for him to be called away by phone.
He explained to me that his childhood friend had returned to their home country and he needed to go pick her up.
Her family went bankrupt.
Her parents died in a car accident, leaving her as an orphan. She was very pitiful.
Her parents treated him well when they were alive..
Her name v
was Yaritza.
Since that day, Vincent was frequently called away, and the time we spent together became less and less.
He liked Lego, so I spent a lot of money to buy a limited–edition Lego set. I worked hard for half a month to assemble it and eagerly presented it to him. Seeing his happy expression, I was also very satisfied.
Just what he liked. Yaritza liked too.
She smiled at him and asked for it, and although he was reluctant, he still gave it to her.
After I found out, I felt very sad and secretly cried.
When they met again, he explained, “She is a friend, I can’t refuse her. Don’t think too much, I have no other intentions towards her. I will treat you the same way another day.”
I was coaxed like this..
He was a very good person, considerate and attentive to everyone.
To know etiquette and observe traditions.
About half a year after getting engaged, we went mountain climbing with our friends, and Yaritza was unexpectedly among them.
This was not the first time I had seen her, but it was the first time I had a clear understanding of her thoughts.
Halfway up, the two of us fell slightly behind. Suddenly, Yaritza accidentally bumped into me, seemingly without intention.
She and I fell down the stairs and rolled into the mountains.
My arm hurt so much that I couldn’t lift it at all. I turned my head and looked at Yaritza with
confusion and anger.
And she, leaning closer to me, whispered in my ear, “Reina, if I say it was you who bumped into me, do you think Vincent would believe me? Would he help you first, or help me?”
When Vincent and a few friends heard the sound and hurried over, I saw Yaritza, with tears in her eyes, softly sobbing, “Sister Reina, maybe she was tired from climbing and accidentally bumped into me because she couldn’t stand steady.”
After speaking, he timidly glanced at me.
wanted to explain, but as I looked up and caught a glimpse of Vincent, I suddenly felt frozen in place.
He didn’t believe me, he picked up Yaritza and looked down at me condescendingly, saying “Reina, don’t be unreasonable.”
Yes, it’s true. Because I had two arguments with him before about Yaritza, so when something happened, it was all my fault.
Throwing a tantrum for no reason?
I never expected that this worn–out joke could be applied to myself.
That day, I watched as he held Yaritza and gradually walked away.
Friends were also a bit at a loss, comforting each other with a lot of chatter.
“Reina, we believed that you were not that kind of person.”
“Yeah, don’t get angry either.”
“Vincent saw Yaritza with severe scratches, her hands covered in blood.”
I shook my head and said, “You guys keep climbing, I’ll go down first.”
I was supposed to have a friend accompany me down.
I refused. There was no need to dampen my friend’s enthusiasm by sweeping again.
No one saw my arm dislocated, my arm was bloody and mangled, and I endured the pain as I descended the mountain
While waiting for the ambulance, I became physically exhausted and gradually passed out.
One second before closing my eyes, I heard a slightly panicked voice.
Reina!”
Reina”
I lifted my head and the sound from my memories coincided with the sound in my ears now. I
looked at the person in front of me in confusion.
Hezekiah Hennen.
The leader of the Hennen Group, whose parents passed away at a young age, not only protected their family’s assets but also led the Hennen Group to new heights. He became the pinnacle of the wealthy circle.
It was by chance that I met him. It was during my senior year of high school when I went to visit my grandmother’s house.
There, I unexpectedly saved him once and accompanied him in nursing his injuries. When he left, he gave me a contact information and promised that in the future, as long as it was within his ability, he would unconditionally fulfill a request from me.
Afterwards, the two families would occasionally visit each other, and they would often run into each other, gradually becoming acquainted.
When did it become unfamiliar?
It seems like it has been two or three years since I confessed to my family and started dating Vincent, and we haven’t seen each other at all.
When I sent him a message, I was actually nervous.
After all, that person’s temperament was unpredictable and aloof.
But looking at the whole circle, he is the only one I can think of.
The Stratakos family had a significant influence, and no one dared to marry me at this time excep for him.
I don’t know if he changed his contact information.
I don’t know if he remembers that promise.
So now, looking at the cold and handsome man in front of me, wearing a tailored suit, he seemed to have hurriedly come from a business occasion.
My eyes slightly turned red, and my vision gradually became blurred by the rising mist.
seemed like Hezekiah sighed and reached out to gently wipe away the tears from my eyelashes. “Why are you crying? Didn’t you ask me to come and get married? Do you regret it now?”
shook my head and pulled him into the registration office.
Handed over the documents amidst the astonishment of the staff, and it was done in just over ten
minutes.
Wow, they got married so quickly after getting their marriage license.
But in just over ten minutes, Vincent was unwilling to wait with me.
She did not want her childhood sweetheart, or anyone else for that matter.
