Chapter 5
The nights in October had already become a bit chilly, with the night sky dotted with stars. A gentle breeze mixed with the fragrance of the green plants and flowers in the courtyard, making it very pleasant.
I opened the courtyard gate.
I saw the man standing under the street lamp at a glance.
Just like the first time we met.
He had a handsome appearance and a clean and fresh temperament.
After seeing me, his eyes seemed to burst with a burst of light.
It was really beautiful.
I sighed in my heart, truly the person I have liked for several years.
“Reina, have you eaten?”
I nodded and said, “Is there something you want when you come over?”
Vincent glanced at my expression.
“Reina, I’m sorry today, I stood you up.”
I said lightly, “It’s okay, I’m used to it.”
After Reina Mears hung up the phone, Vincent started to feel anxious. It had been an entire afternoon, and he couldn’t shake the feeling that he had lost something. That’s why he wanted to come and see her before flying to Swobia.
Looking at Reina’s calm appearance now, it seems like nothing is wrong, yet it also seems like something is bothering her.
I thought about it, and Vincent said to me.
“Reina, were you angry? Angry that I left you alone at the city hall, angry that I postponed the wedding?”
Look.
He knew I would get angry, but he did it.
Why? Probably because I was cheap.
Every time he left me for her sister Yaritza, I would get angry and throw a tantrum.
But I would always forgive him because I really liked him..
Vincent knew that I liked him a lot.
So, the favored ones are confident without fear, but this favoritism, he always spares for me.
Seeing my increasingly cold expression, Vincent thought I was angry and instead breathed a sigh of
relief.
A hint of delight flashed in his eyes, but he quickly explained in anger, and everything was fine after coaxing.
Vincent rubbed my hair and let go of his hand before I dodged away.
“Reina, Yaritza’s ankle was severely injured and she needs treatment from the specialists in Swobia. Moreover, time is running out as the surgery needs to be done within forty–eight hours, otherwise there will be complications. That’s why I need to accompany her there.”
Sarcasm flashed in my eyes.
“What, is there no one left in this world? Are the assistants and caregivers all dead? Can only you accompany her? You don’t care about our wedding, do you?”
Vincent’s eyes flashed with disapproval.
“Reina, you are the only one in my heart. Don’t make a fuss. I just treat her like a sister. I am worried about her being alone in a foreign country. Once I have settled her, I will come back immediately.”
“Reina, I will definitely give you an even grander wedding when I come back.”
I really wanted to ask him if he knew what would happen to me if Yaritza changed the wedding date.
But before he could ask, he was interrupted by the ringing of his phone.
It was Yaritza, her exclusive ringtone.
Because of this, Yaritza was still showing off in front of me, and Vincent heard it and said it didn
matter.
Reina, when she was in high school before, she set up my phone by herself. If you want, you can also set one up. I knew it was you as soon as I heard it.
I was thinking at that time, it was so early.
Yaritza could freely touch Vincent’s phone.
In Vincent’s eyes, Yaritza had always been the special one.
Ja an earlier time when he appeared, Vincent’s preference was given to Yaritza.
I was never the only exception.
Tdid not set it up, I gave it to someone else, I do not want it.
Now that I thought about it, it seemed like I was the woman in their way, which was a bit funny.
After all, he was someone I had liked for so many years. When I saw him downstairs, my heart. couldn’t help but skip a beat.
Now, ah.
I watched him pick up the phone.
Listening to Yaritza’s coquettish tone over there.
“Vincent, where did you go? The plane is about to board.”
Vincent whispered soothingly.
“Yaritza, be good, sit still, be careful with your feet, I will come over right away.”
After coaxing for a while, he hung up the phone and then realized he was looking at me awkwardly.
I looked at the time again, “I have to go, Reina. It’s getting late.”
I looked at him with a slightly anxious expression and said, “Vincent, I have already…”
The honking of the car interrupted my words, but Vincent breathed a sigh of relief and came forward to hug me tightly.
“Reina, wait for me, wait for me to marry you.”
And then he quickly walked away.
I did not speak again, there was no future.
Vincent got in the car and turned around to see a girl standing under the streetlight. Suddenly, his
heart ached.
And then came the endless panic.
Shouting, this made him go down and hold her,
telling her not to po to Swobia.
As the figure grew smaller and smaller, the words “stop parking” were about to slip out of my mouth.
The
phone rang
It was Yaritza.
Vincent fell silent.
