After taking off the wedding dress, Dad hesitated and said, “Should we meet Leon Holt? After all, the wedding is tomorrow, and it’s not appropriate for them to not have met each other even once.”
I hesitated for two seconds and still refused his kindness.
“No need, I trust my father’s judgment.”
Mom carefully noticed that I was feeling down and gave Dad a signal with her eyes not to mention these things again.
After getting in the car, my aunt suddenly called.
Celia, haven’t you told Lucas about your return yet? Why does he seem so unconcerned?”
I was just helping that little vixen upstairs when I bumped into her at the elevator door. I was lucky I didn’t pounce on her and tear her face apart!
No wonder he didn’t continue to look for me for the past half day, turns out he was busy taking Miah
home.
I lowered my gaze, concealing the emotions in my pupils.
“No, only the matter of separation was mentioned. After all, there was never a formal confession. At most, he was just my friend. There was no need to tell him about my return for marriage.”
My aunt sighed on the phone.
“Alright, I don’t understand your young people either. I booked a flight early in the morning, so I should be able to make it to the wedding.”
“Thank you, Auntie. Take care.”
The phone hung up, and my mother beside me was furious.
“Hasn’t he even said a formal confession after all these years? You’ve wasted ten years for someone
like him over there?”
“If I had known this earlier, I should have urged you to come back and get married sooner. What a thing! You were always speaking well of him in front of us every day, and I thought you were living a happy life. How dare you bully my daughter like this!”
I gently patted my mother’s back.
“I never lied to you; I was indeed quite happy at that time.”
Before Miah appeared, everything was fine, and we were almost reaching the end of happiness.

endured the sourness at the tip of my nose and looked out of the car window.
The unfamiliar city made it difficult for me to relax.
It seems that coming back here, everything in my life could start anew from this moment.
As soon as I got home and finished washing up, my mom angrily threw her phone onto the sofa.
“Who reported the photos I posted? How does my daughter’s wedding photo bother anyone? Why is there so much hostility online these days? Can’t they stand seeing others have a good time?”
Dad adjusted his glasses and furrowed his brow.
“Report? What is the reason? Was the report successful? This is so unreasonable. I will call the person in charge of this company right now.”
I remembered something and quickly stepped forward to stop my father’s action.
“No need, maybe it’s just that the wedding dress is too expensive and easily misleads the public, or maybe someone is jealous of the wealthy. It’s fine, just delete it.”
I picked up my mom’s phone on the sofa and took a glance.
