Genesis was sitting cross–legged on the sofa keeping a healthy space between her and Nazar as she looked at the screen. “Any idea what the password is?”
“Do you really need it?” Nazar asked with a smirk.
“No.” she smirked back. “You can tell a lot by a man’s password.”
“He’s not a man. He’s the slime off his father’s back. Even if Yegor could find a way to take the family, his son is not capable of running a gas station convenience store, let alone a billion–dollar family enterprise. I have a cat who could do a better job running my organization than Orel. He’s a blight on the family. Why the fuck my uncle thinks he hung the moon, and the stars is beyond me.” Nazar scoffed, “for the record, his password is his father’s birthday.”
“Suck–up,” she snorted but the information was unnecessary as she was already into the computer. She pulled her lips back with revulsion, “what the hell is this?” she cocked her head to one side and looked at the screensaver.
“Do you remember when Putin did the bare chest photo on a horse?” Nazar asked with his own disgusted expression. “My cousin fancies himself in better physical condition than the President of our country. He thinks if he gets to lead our family, some day he could run against the man and win.”

“He has weird nipples,” Genesis said studying the photo of the nearly naked man on the horse.
“I’ve never been compelled to look at his breasts.”
She snickered, “I feel bad for the horse carrying his weird ass.”
“Me too. Rumor has it he after the photo he got quite drunk and tried to mount it in other ways. His father needed to knock him out because he was impossible to control.”
“He tried to fuck the horse?” Lorcan made a face. “You Russians
are a weird lot.”
“Really? We Russians are a weird lot? This from the man who once robbed a bank wearing a goat head.”
“I was fifteen and it was funny as hell.”
“It was an actual skull of a goat,” Nazar looked at Genesis. “Your lover had the head of a dead animal on his head. Blink if you need me to rescue you from this crazy bunch.”
She giggled at his words unable to stop herself. “I don’t need. rescuing, but can I say,” she looked at Lorcan, “I am going to need the full story later.”
“It involved copious amounts of drugs.”
“At fifteen?”

“Almost seventeen,” Lorcan argued. “I was high the night you boys were conceived. It was a life changing event for me.”
“You stopped doing drugs?”
“No. I started using more. I was forced to marry the bitch. I don’t think I was sober a night from the time they were conceived.”
Genesis rolled her eyes at him, “as if.”
“You don’t believe me?”
“No, I don’t, because I know you were a hands–on father to your boys, and you wouldn’t have allowed anyone to be drunk or high around them when they were babies.”
He winked at her, “you think you know me so well?”
“I do.”
“You’re right,” Tadgh commented shooting a respectful glance at Lorcan. “He did all his partying away from home. I don’t remember Dad even drinking a beer until we were in school.”
She gave a smile at Lorcan and then refocused back on the computer screen. “Hey, this idiot is still linked to the cloud. He’s literally backing up his photos and stuff every day to the cloud.

It’s here.” She searched around and then gave a bark of laughter, “could it be this casy?”
“What is it?” Nazar wanted to lean sideways to look but seemed worried about entering her space.
She turned the computer a fraction, aware Kiefer was getting off his chair to go stand behind them. “He has a find my phone app on his computer.”
“No, he doesn’t,” Lorcan shot out of his seat and moved to stand next to Kiefer as Tadgh crawled onto the sofa behind Genesis.
“He really does. Why would he not shut it off? He knows his computer got lost, so why would he not get rid of all traces of his equipment? What if a cop got hold of this? He really is stupid!” she turned to face Nazar.
“Now do you understand why I want my daughter to run this family and not my uncle’s? I am surrounded by idiots who think they are the smartest men in the room. I can actually hear him in my head telling everyone how smart he is for having a way to find his device.”
She opened his cloud and put a hand to her mouth, “oh my goodness. He took photos of Laoise.”
“Is she alive?”
“She doesn’t look dead here,” she pointed to an especially explicit photo.

“What is with the women in this family they fuck to get out of bad situations?” Lorcan growled furiously.
“I’ve never been so happy to know I was too high for her to actually get on my dick,” Kiefer growled, “damn she’s filthy.”
“You kissed her,” Genesis shot over her shoulder with a glint in her eye.
“I thought she was you because she was wearing your perfume. I couldn’t see straight but I could smell you.”
“Mm hm,” she huffed as she went through the photos trying to figure out a way to pinpoint the location. The phone app was showing a populated area in Boston. She ducked away from Kiefer who leaned over the couch to kiss her behind the ear. “Stop it.”
“You are the only woman I want to kiss, a ghrá. You have to believe me. Why would I want that,” he pointed to the screen, “when I have you.”
She pursed her lips and looked at Nazar, “this bitch drugged Kiefer the night she tried to kill me and caused me to miscarry.”
“They took hours of video the night this happened but from the time Kiefer drank the drugs until he passed out was less than twenty minutes,” Lorcan commented quietly. “Yet they did enough damage it caused Genesis to be lost to us for seven years. She needs to pay for what she did. Genesis wants her. I want her here alive, so Genesis gets her revenge as she deserves.”

Genesis was ignoring the discussion around her as she began to formulate an idea. Suddenly there was sound coming from the room. Heavy panting and groaning and the sound of a woman’s cries filled the room.
“Jesus Gen, I don’t want to watch his videos.”
“It’s not his videos. We’re live.”
“Live?”
“I was able to hack his phone through one of the apps he has synced to all of his devices. We’re listening live. I don’t know where his phone is in terms of the placement so can’t really see much but we’re getting good audio.”
“He’s fucking her right now?” Tadgh made a gagging sound.
“Shouldn’t take long,” Nazar dryly offered his two cents. “His ex–wife divorced him because she was tired of it taking longer to floss her teeth in the morning. A direct quote from her when she. finally snapped at him in front of her guards. It was quite funny. The guards were constantly flossing their teeth in front of him all the time for months.”
“How old is he?”
“Fifty–four.”
“A year older than you, Lorcan,” Genesis looked over her

He tugged her hair playfully, “go ahead. Make one comparative comment. I dare you.”
“Will it get me a demonstration on your stamina?”

“I am not comfortable with this conversation,” Nazar reminded them he was still in the room.
“Fair,” Genesis shrugged.
The man on the phone started talking to someone in the room and another man answered.
“Are they having sex with a man in the room? What are they saying?” She looked at Nazar.
“You don’t speak any Russian?”
“I know a few words here and there but not enough to follow at full conversation.”
“You know you spoke very fluently until Mak died.”
“I did?” she was surprised.
“You don’t remember? You were six.”

“I guess since nobody else spoke it with me, I never thought of it.”
“Listen to the conversation, tell me what you’re hearing,” Nazar pushed her. “Focus, Genesis. You’re a brilliant woman and there is no way you lost something ingrained in you from birth.”
She nodded and listened attentively to the conversation but was only picking up words and then as if something connected in her brain and the more the words were connecting the more, she was picking up. As she listened in, she frowned, “there are words. I’m not understanding but he’s commenting about the girl and how he’s angry at his father.”
“His father told him if he feels the need to fuck the girl, then do it while guards watch to make sure she doesn’t manage to shoot him or stab him while he’s fucking. The guard was complaining it’s not fun to watch and asked if he could have a turn. Orel said.

“At least they aren’t forcing her.” Genesis said quietly. “I mean I hate her, and I want her dead but being forced sexually would sit wrong with me somehow.”
“It makes sense you weren’t picking up the words of this conversation,” Lorcan commented. “I’m positive Mak and Ekaterina wouldn’t use language like this around you as a child however how clever are you to pick up the other words.”
The men started saying something else and then Genesis looked to Nazar wide–eyed.

“Laoise told them the back entrance into the old house. She doesn’t know we moved. They’re going to hit the old house. Take me. Torture me. Force Nazar to give up his seat in exchange for my life. Right? Am I understanding correctly?”
“Yes,” Nazar nodded grimly. “Laoise apparently asked them. to get her out of there once she leads them into the house but they’re going to kill her or send her off to work in one of my uncle’s brothels.”
“When are they doing this?”
“Overnight tonight.” Nazar said with a shake of his head. “This Laoise one would truly betray her family like this? It seems my family isn’t the only one with a few bad apples.”
“She is dying tonight one way or another. Let’s set it up. We’ll set the house up to receive her and them.”
“Can we keep listening to find out more?”
“Definitely. We don’t even need to go to them. We will let them
come to us.
“I want a team to hit their safe house same time they are attacking us in case Yegor hangs back.” Nazar said bluntly. “Let’s make sure nobody gets left out.”
“I agree,” Lorcan nodded. “We will listen as long as we can.

Genesis felt a shiver of warning go down her spine as she contemplated the risks which would come with such a thing. Looking around at her partners, she prayed nobody was hurt tonight. She’d seen the videos of how ruthless the Russian team. was in taking Laoise and how many of the Iron Force Gang were lost. She prayed there were no more losses to their side.
