Mark’s eyes were all clouded in the dim light,
his voice was low and shaking.
“You…you did it on purpose? To get rid of all
of our memories?”
“Why?”
His voice rose, his fingers squeezing my wrist, begging for an answer.
“You’re asking me why, Mark?” I laughed, meeting his eyes, “Do you really not know? Or are you pretending you don’t?”

I pointed to the scar on my belly, my voice
filled with pain.
“This scar, it’s the only evidence that our

“Bailey, why didn’t you tell me…
Mark’s eyes welled up with tears, full of pain
and guilt, his voice was shaking.
