‘He likes my dad!‘ I exclaimed inwardly.
My dad jerked in shock, shattering the bowl he was holding
‘What’s with him tonight? It’s like he suddenly developed Parkinson’s,‘ I thought to myself, bemused.
I abandoned my meal and dove into a deep rabbit hole of gossip. ‘The butler has been in our family for ten years now. From the moment he applied for the job, he was utterly smitten with my dad’s refined charm and striking looks. The more time they spent together, the deeper his feelings grew, to the point of complete obsession.‘
‘And! He’s got a foot fetish!‘ I added inwardly with growing disgust. ‘Every single one of my dad’s shoes, he’s licked them inside out with his tongue. Worse still, he cuddles them to sleep at night. The reason he’s siding with Alicia is because she discovered his secret crush on Dad ages ago! Instead of exposing him, she helped him steal shoes and keep his secret. Compared to her, I, his actual daughter, must be a huge thorn in his side!‘
‘Ugh, this is one scandal I could’ve lived without knowing. Ugh—‘
I looked up, puzzled, only to find everyone around the table looking like they were about to throw up. ‘Wait, what? Are they all pregnant?‘ I quipped internally before returning to the subject at hand.
I continued, lowering my head, ‘In the end, he even helped Alicia frame the Stone Family. His plan was simple: once my dad was left destitute and heartbroken, he himself would finally have his chance. And if that wasn’t sick enough, he was plotting to kidnap Dad and lock him up in his hometown! The only thing that stopped him was Dad’s fatal car accident while he was too distracted to think straight.‘
‘Seriously, this butler may look decent on the surface, but deep down, he’s just a creepy, manipulative old man still playing the deranged lover trope. Disgusting! Pervert!”
Thomas, looking as though a storm was brewing inside him, gave a fierce nod. Then, without warning, he jumped to his feet and roared, “Butler!”
The butler hurried in, his face lit with excitement and his old eyes brimming with sticky, syrupy affection.
I shuddered when I saw that look in his eyes.
Thomas kicked off his slippers with a forceful motion. “You’re fired! Get out of my sight!”
The butler turned pale and dropped to his knees with a loud thud. “Master, what have I done wrong? I’ve been nothing but loyal to this family!”
Thomas gave him a disgusted glare, his face twisted as if he had just swallowed a dozen flies. “I know all about your habit of stealing shoes. We don’t need thieves in this house.”
The butler collapsed onto the floor, his face drained of all color.
‘Wait, when did Dad figure out the butler’s true nature? Turns out my dad’s sharper than I thought. Not like those other dimwits in the family. Clearly, my wit comes from him,‘ I questioned internally.
My brothers let out faint scoffs through their noses.
‘What are they scoffing at? Reincarnated kings of arrogance, the lot of them,‘ I said internally.
Thomas‘ lips curled into a smirk as he sat back down after finally getting rid of the butler. “My dear Yunice, let’s eat-”
Our gazes collectively landed on the dining table. Just moments ago, that shoe–sniffing butler had been handling the food with his hands.

‘Ew, gross,‘ I said inwardly
It was as if Thomas could read my mind. His face twitched slightly before he cleared his throat. “Your mom and I will take you out for dinner tonight.”
He then glanced at my brothers with visible disdain. “As for you three, forget it. Just looking at you ruins my appetite!”
I was shocked internally. ‘Huh? Yeah!‘
Somehow, this whole family reunion thing wasn’t going quite the way I imagined.
My parents actually seemed to care about me quite a bit, and while my three brothers were annoying enough to deserve a smack, they were not as detestable as they were in the original storyline.
On my second day back home, Thomas handed me a script for a variety show.
He even insisted that Jimmy and Harvey tagged along.
“My dear Yunice,” he said, patting my head affectionately, this lifestyle variety show is a big production. You and your brothers should go have some fun. Your mom and I will get everything ready so we can hold a proper reunion banquet when you’re back.”
Then he added, with a touch of guilt, “I know I’ve missed out on the first 20 years of your life, but to me, you’re my one and only treasure. No one could ever take your place, okay?”
The variety show was set in a small mountain village, and it was pre–recorded. On the first day we recorded the show, my agent, Melinda, was waiting for me at the door.
She stared in shock at the luxury car that had dropped me off. “Yunice, did you hook up with a sugar daddy?”
I glanced at her and then at the two brothers who had just stepped out of the car behind me.
I was speechless while I was saying in my mind, ‘You can question my taste, but don’t insult my intelligence. A sugar daddy? These two? They’re just clueless lackeys serving as stepping stones for the female lead.‘
Harvey grabbed my ear with one hand, bellowing like a tiger, “Yunice! Don’t think staying silent means I don’t know you’re insulting me!”
I stared at him, dumbfounded. Was my disdain really that obvious?
Before I could retort, Jimmy draped an arm around my shoulders and said calmly, “I’m her brother.”
Harvey nodded coolly, adding, “By blood.”
Jimmy, a renowned actor, and Harvey, a powerhouse singer, were both prominent figures in the entertainment. industry. Melinda, wearing an expression like she had just struck gold, glanced at me with unrestrained excitement.
“Are you two going on the show together this time?” she asked.
I explained helplessly, “My dad wants us to spend more time together and build some rapport.”
While she erupted into a chorus of excitement, my thoughts wandered, drawn to a tall figure standing not far
away.
‘What a stunner! An absolutely gorgeous man!‘ I thought.

The three people followed my thoughts with their gaze, turning in the same direction. The handsome man across from us also looked over, revealing a face that was both breathtakingly stunning and coldly indifferent.
