Chapter 10
The police arrived just in time, taking Logan and his father, Vinneas, into custody. Watching them be led away in handcuffs was a sight I’d long imagined but never thought I’d actually witness.

After reuniting with the Jo Family, one question had gnawed at the back of mind: if my father, was so powerful, why hadn’t the Jo Family protected me when I was falsely accused of plagiarism in my previous life?
I remembered overhearing an online rumor–a hint that my father had a younger brother who vanished mysteriously a year before. That got me thinking and I began piecing things together quietly, biding my time. I waited until no one was paying attention, then collected hair samples from my father and Logan and sent them for DNA analysis.
The results were shocking. Vincent and I

were actually uncle and niece. Vinneas, the man I knew as “father,” was a fraud–his real identity was Vincent‘ s missing brother, he had assumed Vinneas‘ s place. after disappearing and faking his own death a year before. It was he who raised Logan as his own son.
The police, after comparing Vinneas‘ s DNA to samples in the missing persons‘ database, confirmed my suspicions. The man everyone had been calling Vincent Jo was, in fact, Vinneas, his long–lost brother. My real father, the man who had been searching for me his entire life, had finally found a lead a year ago and was elated. But that joyous reunion never happened.
The real story behind my father’s death unfolded like a dark nightmare. After finally learning of my existence and his impending reunion with me, my father, had celebrated, even sharing a drink with Vinneas and Logan. He told them his intention to pass down the Jo Group to me as his true heir. That revelation, however,

didn’t go over well with the two men.
Logan had turned red with rage. “Uncle, we’ve been by your side, working for you for years. Then she shows up out of nowhere and you hand everything over to her? Why? On what grounds?”
My father, standing his ground, replied firmly, “Because she’s my daughter! Because I know she‘ 11 honor the Jo
name.”
He glared at them, his voice hard and unyielding. “I’ve taken care of you both all this time, giving you every opportunity and this is how you repay me? Now you want to steal from my daughter?”
It was then that Vinneas‘ s anger turned deadly. In a fit of blind rage, he grabbed a wine bottle and struck my father, ending his life. And then, as if nothing had happened, he buried my father’s body in the garden of the Jo estate.
But there was one complication: everyone

knew my father had been actively searching for me. It would look suspicious if he suddenly stopped, so Vinneas concocted the perfect plan. He smeared my name by accusing me of plagiarism,
creating a scandal that would make it easy for the Lin family to disown me publicly. If I were branded a disgrace, it would make sense for “Vincent Jo” to deny any relation to me.
Yet fate gave me a second chance–a chance to be reborn, to not only clear my name but to seek justice for my father s death.
A year later, I stood as the official head of the Jo Group. I’d weeded out every remnant of Vinneas‘ s influence, cleansing the company of those who had supported his treachery. Now, the legacy my father built was mine to uphold and I was determined to grow the Jo Group stronger than ever, in his honor.
The company my father dreamed of would

flourish and I would make certain no one
ever tarnished the Jo name again.
