“If you want to die so badly, go ahead, but don’t fucking dirty Loviisa’s hands.”
The voice cut through the tension like a blade.
Before Caspian could drive the knife any deeper, Eamon burst into the room, followed by a group of men.
“Loviisa, don’t be scared. I’m here.”
Eamon gently buttoned up my shirt and draped his jacket over my shoulders.
His gaze shifted to Caspian, eyes flashing with icy contempt.
“Caspian, if you’d competed with me fairly, I might have respected you. But trying to force yourself on Loviisa? That’s fucking disgusting.”
Caspian’s lips curled into a bitter smile. He tried to explain himself to me but collapsed weakly to the floor.
“Loviisa, don’t go with him! I won’t let you go with him!”
I didn’t love Caspian anymore, but I couldn’t watch him die in front of me.
Eamon caught the hesitation in my eyes and sighed.
“Take him to the hospital.”
As soon as Caspian was hospitalized, Eamon’s people went to work sabotaging the business deal that Caspian had fought so hard to secure in Hong Kong.
He also had his New York connections push Hyperion Group into a downward spiral.
As it turned out, Eamon was the heir to one of Hong Kong’s most secretive billionaires, with influence extending all the way to New York’s business circles.
The moment Eamon put the word out, everyone in the industry stepped back, unwilling to cross him.
Hyperion Group’s stock plummeted overnight.
Romana called Caspian repeatedly, begging him to return and take control of the situation.
The day Caspian was discharged, he was supposed to fly back to New York to handle the company crisis.
But when he learned that Eamon and I were having our wedding ceremony at the beach that day, he

canceled his flight.
Halfway through our engagement ceremony, Caspian appeared before me, holding Nico.
I wasn’t expecting him.
For all his playboy, but he wasn’t reckless with business–he would never put Hyperion Group at risk jus to crash my wedding.
Especially since Hyperion Group was the legacy his parents had left to him and Romana.
“Loviisa, you can’t marry him!”
Caspian’s fists clenched instinctively, his knuckles turning white.
Eamon had anticipated Caspian’s interruption and had already stationed security to hold him back.
Just as I was about to put on the ring, Nico began to cry.
“Mommy! Mommy, I want Mommy!”
His tiny voice rang out, piercing through the crowd.
He clung to Caspian, face red, tears streaming down his chubby cheeks.
Clearly, Caspian had been coaching him these past few days.
I’d imagined Nico calling me “Mommy” countless times, but never thought it would happen on my
wedding day.
My chest tightened, the moment heavier than I expected.
During all those times Caspian had humiliated me, I’d given up on him completely. Having Nico was just to repay my debt to the family.
Nico kept calling for his mommy.
Looking at those eyes that were so much like Caspian’s, I wanted to respond, but the words died in my
throat.
After the vows, it was time for the exchange of rings.
Caspian charged forward. The security guards, afraid of hurting Nico, hesitated just long enough for him to reach me.
“Loviisa, don’t marry him!”

His eyes were red–rimmed, hot tears streaming down his face.
With a dull thud, he fell to his knees, the impact echoing against the ground.
“Loviisa, I’m begging you. Please…”
He clutched at the hem of my wedding dress, his voice weak with desperation.
I pulled my dress back.
Eamon took my hand–slipping the ring onto my finger.
Amid the cheers of our guests, we embraced passionately and shared a sweet French kiss.
As Eamon carried me to the wedding car, Caspian’s agonized howl echoed behind us.
I didn’t look back.
I heard later that after I left, Caspian jumped into the ocean, saying he wanted to atone for his sins against me.
Whether he survived or not?
I didn’t care enough to find out.
