Chapter 6
Iwas halfway through my meal when I received several Line messages from Tessa.
“Noemi, did you see how beautiful these baby clothes were?”
“This is specially chosen by Antoine for our baby. He is about to become a father, and he can’t express how happy he is.”
“Unfortunately, your child was lost.”
“It’s okay, I’ll be generous and let my son recognize you as his godmother, how about that?”
She was quite good at killing people and feeling remorse.
After that night, I never saw Antoine again. It turns out he went to accompany Tessa.
I really wanted to know how to be as heartless and shameless as him.
Alan saw that my face turned pale and asked with concern, “What’s wrong?”
ANSA
I pretended to stay calm, shook my head, and said, “It’s nothing.”
I calmed myself down and sent her a message, “What is there to be proud of being a bastard? You don’t actually think Antoine would marry you, do you?”
Tessa got me so angry that I cursed at her in Line.
I turned off the screen and ignored her.
However, the fact proved that I was proven wrong again.
Antoine not only wanted to marry Tessa but also asked me to be her bridesmaid.
I stared at him intently, “Why?”
Antoine bit his cigarette and sneered, “I remember your 20th birthday wish was to marry me wearing a wedding dress.”
“I am now helping you fulfill half of your wish. Shouldn’t you be grateful to me?”
“How long are you going to torture me?” I trembled even in my voice.
“Until the day I die, you will be able to be free,” he gently caressed my cheek and sneered, “But they say calamity lasts a thousand years, so I will probably live to be a hundred.”
The next day, I accompanied Tessa to try on wedding dresses.
She tried on many wedding dresses and asked me if each one was beautiful or not.
Lignored her, but she was relentless. “Noemi, I know you’re upset. If you want to cry, go ahead and
cry. After you’re done crying, you still have to be my bridesmaid in a few days.”
Actually, before my dad had an accident, Antoine had already proposed to me.
I was extremely happy at that time, but I deliberately teased him, “I’m still young, I don’t want to get married so early. You better wait for me for another two years!”
Heh
He held me gently and affectionately kissed my forehead, saying, “Okay, I am willing to wait for a
lifetime.”
What a deceitful mouth it was.
Now, I am about to be the bridesmaid for his new bride, which is absolutely ridiculous.
After showing off, Tessa entered the fitting room again.
I felt increasingly suffocated and short of breath, and I didn’t want to stay here for a moment longer, so I grabbed my bag and left.
I turned into the alley and leaned against the wall to light a cigarette.
Actually, I couldn’t smoke at all. I took a puff just now and started coughing repeatedly.
Suddenly, a person appeared in front of me and snatched the cigarette from between my fingers.
I raised my eyes in surprise, and it was Alan again. I wondered, “Is Dragoncity really that small?”
Alan raised an eyebrow and smiled, “Did you suspect me of following you?”
That was not necessary. His family background and appearance were enough to make many women flock to him, so there was no need for him to be a womanizer.
“Girl’s smoking is not good.”
Speaking, he reached out and took the cigarette from between my fingers, placing it between his
own lips.
I reminded him, “That was the one I smoked.”
He did not express his opinion, “Hmm, the taste is good.”
I pursed my lips, unsure of how to respond for a moment.
He leaned against the wall in front of me and leisurely took two puffs of his cigarette.
I just noticed that the corners of his lips were naturally slightly upturned, even when he wasn’t
smiling, there was a hint of a smile.
You were quite generous to accompany your ex–boyfriend’s fiancée to try on wedding dresses.”
It was difficult to explain my relationship with Antoine, but luckily, I had no intention of exposing
the scars to others.
So I casually made up a sentence, “I still have to be the godmother of their two children, being a bridesmaid is nothing.”
I was probably tormented by Antoine to the point of numbness. If it was in the past, I would never have said such self–deprecating words.
Alan was taken aback for a moment, then chuckled, “I didn’t expect you to be quite humorous.”
He suddenly took two steps forward and reached out to grab my waist, which startled me.
He pulled me into his arms and said, “Since you are single now, would you consider me?”
